Abstract

This article reflect on the dificult of to fight by all the population acquires the capacities necessary to be good readers. It is reflected on the delicate assembly between two types of capacitis that, even having a very different nature, also are implied in the reading: the ability in words recognition and the capacity to accede to the meaning that the texts transmit. Once it is developed this departure point, the work is divided in two parts. In first one, we sum up a study that offers empirical evidences of the relation between both capacities; these evidences support the necessity to advance simultaneously in both fronts. In the second part we describe and illustrate a reading procedure that can help pupils to understand the texts even when they are not expert in words recognition (or by specific difficulties or by they haven´t the skill necessary yet).
