Mind map as mediation strategy for the development of higher psychological functions

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to identify a strategy to contribute to the mediation process focused on the development of higher psychological functions. Method: The methodology adopted was a descriptive literature review based on articles and writers on the theme explored. Results: The results showed that, by registering the knowledge using the Mind Map, the individual can: integrate both of the brain hemispheres, as he uses words, images and also colors; focus his attention when pursue the concept key for preparing his map; organize the concepts by category; develop the formal logic, when practices the inductive and deductive reasoning; understands the meaning of sort, compare and serialize as a basis for planning; and enhances perception to develop a macro view of a problem. Conclusion: The results given above show the efficiency of the researched strategy in developing the higher psychological functions.
