Self-Archiving Policy

The journal allows and encourages the self-archiving of the published version of the articles (final, formatted version as published on the journal website), whether in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic platforms. This policy, in line with best practices in scientific dissemination, is detailed in the Diadorim database, contributing to the visibility, transparency, and reproducibility of authors' scholarly work.

Editorial History

Since its inception in 1982, Revista Psicopedagogia has played a central role in disseminating psychopedagogical knowledge in Brazil. Initially launched as Boletim da Associação de Psicopedagogos de São Paulo, it was later renamed Boletim da Associação Brasileira de Psicopedagogia in 1986. In 1991, with issue no. 21, it was restructured into a scientific journal with regular periodicity, becoming the official scientific publication of ABPp.

The journal's academic and institutional recognition intensified from 2003 (issue no. 61), with the implementation of editorial qualification strategies. In 2005 (issue no. 69), it received its first evaluation from CAPES with a national B rating and was indexed in the Lilacs database. The following year, in 2006 (issue no. 72), celebrating ABPp’s 25th anniversary, the journal had already been indexed in eight national and international databases, establishing itself as a reference in the field.

From 2009 (issue no. 81), in alignment with sustainability guidelines, the journal transitioned to an exclusively digital format and open access model. In 2010, it was indexed in PePSIC – Periódicos Eletrônicos em Psicologia. The 100th edition, published in 2016, marked a historic milestone, reaffirming the journal's leading role in the dissemination of psychopedagogical knowledge in Brazil. That same year, the launch of a new website aligned the journal with international editorial standards.

Editorial Platform Modernization (2025)

In 2025, Revista Psicopedagogia achieved another milestone by migrating to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, a globally adopted journal management system used by leading scientific publications. Developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), OJS offers a robust and transparent infrastructure, enhancing editorial efficiency and interoperability with international indexing, digital preservation, and scientific metrics systems.

This strategic transition is aligned with the principles of open science and ABPp’s commitment to ongoing editorial improvement, publication ethics, and universal access to knowledge. The new platform provides authors, reviewers, and readers with a more intuitive interface, real-time manuscript tracking, and enhanced data management security.

The migration to OJS represents not only a technological advancement but also the institutional strengthening of the journal as a dynamic, transparent, and internationally recognized space for the dissemination of scientific research in Psychopedagogy. We invite the academic community to register on the new platform, submit manuscripts, and follow new publications, contributing to the collective development of the field.
