Peer Review Process

Revista Psicopedagogia adopts a rigorous peer review process, following the double-blind model, which is essential to ensure scientific quality, methodological integrity, and the originality of submitted manuscripts. In this model, the identity of both authors and reviewers remains anonymous throughout the editorial process, ensuring impartial and unbiased evaluation.

1. Initial Screening and Technical Verification

Upon receipt of the manuscript, the editorial team performs a preliminary screening to verify the adherence to the journal’s formatting, ethical, and bibliographic standards, including the APA 7th edition. Manuscripts that do not comply with these norms are returned to the authors for corrections before being forwarded to the reviewers.

2. Assignment to Reviewers

Once approved in the initial screening, the manuscript is submitted to two or more expert reviewers in the relevant field. The reviewers are selected based on their academic experience, alignment with the manuscript’s subject matter, and absence of conflicts of interest.

3. Double-Blind Review

The manuscript is reviewed anonymously by the assigned reviewers, who analyze its theoretical and methodological consistency, scientific contribution, originality, clarity, and relevance. Reviewers may suggest acceptance, revisions (minor or major), or rejection.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the peer reviews, the editorial board deliberates and communicates the decision to the authors. In the case of required revisions, the authors must submit a revised version of the manuscript, responding to all reviewers’ comments and justifying changes.

5. Final Evaluation and Publication

After acceptance, the article undergoes technical editing and formatting. The authors receive a final version of the PDF for review and approval. Only punctual and objective corrections are allowed at this stage.

6. Timeline and Transparency

The average time from submission to potential publication is up to six months, depending on the complexity of the manuscript and editorial demand. All important dates — submission, acceptance, and final approval — are recorded in the published article for full transparency.
