Abstract

The text explains the action of Psychopedagogy on public health environment. It explains how the Initial Diagnosis is a fundamental procedure in an efficient clinical intervention. It is based on the experience of the Mental Team of the Health Department of the City of Porto Alegre. The emphasis is on the Initial Diagnosis as a procedure to identify the Family Violence and to define specify of the care on Mental Health. The relationship between the Motive of Consulting, exposed by the family, with Family Violence imposed to the child. The identification of Family Violence is not obvious and the Motive of Consulting, specially related to learning problems, is not the critical factor to the indication to the psychopedagogic treatment. Furthermore, it treats the necessity of the psychopedagogue to have a clinical hearing during the diagnostic e treatment psychopedagogic and, therefore, to have a larger vision about learning.
