Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Complete institutional affiliation: include only one institution, followed by city, state, and country.
    Do not use acronyms or list more than one institution.
    Example: University of Brasília, Brasília, Federal District, Brazil.
  • Personal summary of each author: include a brief biographical statement for every listed author.
  • Valid email address: provide an active and up-to-date email address for each author.
  • ORCID and Lattes links: include the correct links to both identifiers (ORCID and Lattes Curriculum) at the time of submission.

Editorial Guidelines – Revista Psicopedagogia

Revista Psicopedagogia (ISSN-e 2179-4057) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal, published continuously and edited by the Brazilian Association of Psychopedagogy (ABPp). It serves as a platform of excellence for disseminating original and relevant knowledge in Psychopedagogy and related interdisciplinary fields such as Education, Psychology, Neurosciences, Mental Health, and Educational Public Policies.

The journal primarily accepts original theoretical-empirical manuscripts, critical essays, systematic reviews, and technical-scientific reports that significantly contribute to the theoretical, methodological, and practical advancement of the field.

Authors are strongly encouraged to read this section carefully before submission to ensure adherence to the journal’s standards.

The average response time for evaluation, revision, and editorial decision can vary up to six months depending on the manuscript's complexity and volume of submissions. All key dates such as submission, acceptance, and final approval will be recorded in the published article.

Revista Psicopedagogia has updated its formatting and bibliographic style standards. From June 1, 2022, it adopted the APA 7th edition (2020) citation format. A didactic manual is available to assist authors with this change.

Manuscript Categories Accepted for Publication:

  1. Original Article: Full report of original research, structured with introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion. Must include abstract and keywords. Length: 15–25 pages.
  2. Review Article: Critical or systematic review of the literature. Must include abstract and keywords. Length: 15–25 pages.
  3. Special Article: Editorially invited contributions on strategic topics. Must include abstract and keywords. Length: 15–25 pages.
  4. Research or Experience Report: Analytical description of empirical experiences. Must include abstract and keywords. Length: 5–10 pages.
  5. Dissertation/Thesis Review: Critical analysis of defended academic works. Must include abstract and keywords. Length: 5–10 pages.
  6. Book Review: Evaluation of newly published books. Abstract and keywords are not required. Length: 3–5 pages.
  7. Viewpoint: Opinion text on relevant or innovative topics. Abstract and keywords are not required. Length: 3–5 pages.

General Submission Information:

  1. Manuscript submission must be carried out exclusively through the OJS platform.
  2. Files must be readable in Microsoft Word or Excel. PDF files are not accepted.
  3. Manuscripts must be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
  4. All articles are subject to double-blind peer review.
  5. Selection criteria include originality, relevance, methodological quality, and adherence to editorial norms.
  6. The Editorial Board may suggest revisions to align manuscripts with publication standards.
  7. The Editorial Board reserves the right to keep confidential the reasons for rejection and the identity of reviewers.
  8. A PDF proof will be sent to authors before publication. Only minor corrections will be allowed at this stage.
